Pitcher Josh Collmenter gave the Auckland Tuatara a dominant performance on the mound and his hitters responded with a strong showing to power the side to an 11-2 win over Geelong-Korea on Sunday.

The former Major League starter threw six-and-a-third innings to earn his second win of the Australian Baseball League season, striking out five batters in the process.

John Holdzkom, Yuki Harada and Tomohito Sakai pitched two-and-a-quarter shut-out innings in relief.

But on Sunday, the Tuatara hitters really lifted to ensure the two expansion franchises split the four-game weekend series, 2-2.

Veteran third-baseman Daniel Lamb-Hunt was the star of the show, going 3-4, with four runs batted in and a couple of runs scored. He had help from outfielders Eric Jenkins and Max Brown, as well as first-baseman Kris Richards and catcher Te Wera Bishop, who all collected multi-hit games.

Jenkins had a pair of stolen bases to move to within one of the league lead.

In all, the Tuatara hitters had 14 hits on the day to record arguably their most dominant win of the season so far.

The Tuatara move to a 6-14 record and will face the Adelaide Bite in Mt Gambier next week.
