Silver Ferns coach Noeline Taurua has made wholesale changes to her squad for the upcoming netball Quad Series in England.
Taurua has cut six players from the group that contested the Constellation Cup in October, including vice-captain Katrina Rore (previously Grant) and Te Paea Selby-Rickit.
New Zealand will take on hosts England, South Africa and the world champion Australians in the tournament, which begins January 13.
Mid-court prospect Kimoira Poi continues her impressive year with her first selection for New Zealand, joining veterans Laura Langman, Sam Sinclair and Gina Crampton, and the recalled Karin Burger and Whitney Souness.
Earlier this week, Taurua conducted a gruelling training camp, where she put 25 hopefuls to the test.
"They have been put under the pump physically, mentally and emotionally," she said.
"We needed to set the standard with what’s required within the team - I’ve been inspired by the intent and focus out on court."
Erena Mikaere joins the squad for the first time, while Casey Kopua (101 tests) makes a comeback for the Silver Ferns, with her last outing in the black dress in October 2015.
Defenders Kelly Jury and Temalisi Fakahokotau were not considered, as they continue their rehabilitation from injury.

Shooters - Ameliaranne Ekenasio, Maria Folau & Maia Wilson
Mid-court - Gina Crampton, Laura Langman, Kimiora Poi, Sam Sinclair & Whitney Souness
