Newly crowned Halberg Awards supremo Tom Walsh had to overcome an unfortunate dose of the 'runs' to take out an exhibition shot put event in Christchurch on Wednesday.
But his discomfort had The AM Show crew in hysterics the next morning.
Two days out from the national athletics championships in the same city, Walsh threw just over 21 metres - about 1.5m below his best - to edge countryman Jacko Gill.
Afterwards, the reigning world outdoor and indoor champion admitted he was somewhat under the weather.

"I was up all night with a bit of diarrhoea, so considering all that, I was pretty good," he told Newshub. "I probably wanted to throw a little further, but everything considered, in two days' time, I should be feeling a bit better.
"It's good to know I can still get that out, even on a rough day."
The AM Show deteriorated quickly after Walsh's interview aired, with host Amanda Gillies unable to finish the weather report, and Duncan Garner and Mark Richardson both admitting they had been caught short in public.
