The list of Wellington Phoenix departures has continued to grow, with Australian import David Williams confirmed to leave the A-League club.
The striker scored 11 goals in 27 games this past season, which included a hat-trick against the Newcastle Jets.
The Phoenix have confirmed both club and player were interested in securing a new deal, but ultimately Williams decided to pursue opportunities in Australia.
While his next club remains a mystery, Newshub understands Williams has several offers from other A-League clubs.
- Phoenix snare All Whites goalkeeper Stefan Marinović
- Phoenix ordered to pay $1 million to Football Federation Australia
Williams joins Roy Krishna, Spanish midfielder Mandi, goalkeeper Filip Kurto, utility Max Burgess and coach Mark Rudan as part of a mass end-of-season exodus from the club.
All White goalie Stefan Marinović joined the club as a free agent last week, as a replacement for Kurto.
