Pre-match chat: Queensland's Moses Mbye goes into anaphylactic shock in team's Perth hotel
Queensland's Moses Mbye has undergone a terrifying episode of anaphylactic shock in the lead up to Game 2 of the 2019 State of Origin series.
The Wests Tigers utility's life was saved by Maroons team doctor Matt Hislop after suffering an allergic reaction.
In a statement released by the Maroons, Hislop said he received a call from Mbye who was worried about a quickly developing reaction, known as anaphylaxis.
Brisbane's Courier Mail is reporting Mbye will make a full recovery in time to play in Game 2 on Sunday night, although he was minutes from death according to reports.
"He stabilised and made a complete recovery," Hislop said.
"There is no risk with him playing or training, but he will need to have further tests done when he returns to Sydney."
Mbye told Australia's Nine News there were no warning signs.
"It was something that came on unexpectedly. I have never experienced anything like that before," Mbye said.
