The Silver Ferns have got their netball quad series underway with a 61-45 win over the All Stars in Auckland.
The Ferns led from wire to wire against a plucky All Stars side that featured the 'best of the rest' that New Zealand netball had to offer as part of their warm-up for the World Cup in England next month.
Maria Folau was a stand out for the Ferns, landing 21 of her 24 attempts on goal, while Bailey Mes was on the mark on 19 of her 20.
The All Stars managed to hang with the Ferns through the first half, trailing by just five goals into the interval.
But the Ferns pulled away in the third quarter, courtesy of some sharp combination between Folau and Ameliaranne Ekenasio.
Earlier, the NZ men were far too strong for Fiji, cruising to a 93-19 demolition.
The Silver Ferns will move on to face the NZ men on Thursday night.
