The Black Sox remain unbeaten at the world men's softball championships in Prague after a two-run homer from Joel Evans saw them beat Cuba 2-0 on Sunday (NZ time).
Evans' effort in the second innings was the only scoring play for either side, as New Zealand added their second win of their world title defence.
Daniel Chapman pitched six complete innings, with Josh Pettett closing out the game in the 7th to give the Black Sox the win.
Cuba out-batted the Kiwi side, with seven hits to the Black Sox's four. However, sharp work in the field kept the 24th-ranked nation scoreless.
New Zealand are now two from two at the World Cup after beating the Czech Republic 9-0 in their tournament opener.
The Black Sox will take on Mexico in their next game early Monday morning (NZ time).
