Punters are jumping on the Blackcaps bandwagon in droves, after New Zealand's thrilling semi-final win over India at the Cricket World Cup.
When the tournament began five weeks ago, New Zealand were fourth favourites for a title they had never won before, paying $11 at the TAB.
Now they're in the final, those odds have shortened considerably to $2.90.
TAB spokesman Mark Stafford told NZME that the Tuesday/Wednesday/ Thursday rain-affected semi against favourites India sparked the biggest turnover of any sporting event this year.
"$200,000 came in on New Zealand last night and $600,000 was paid out to those who backed the Kiwis," he said.
"For the first time, we're starting to see a lot of money going on New Zealand to lift the cup."
Hosts England are still favourites for the title at $2.30, with Australia now trailing New Zealand at $3.20.
The English and Aussies meet in Thursday's second semi-final, with the home team at $1.67 to win.
