For many children, playing in a World Cup cricket final is the stuff dreams are built on.
If Black Caps Jimmy Neesham is to be believed though, youngsters would be better off pursuing pastimes a little easier on the nerves.
"Kids, don't take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy," the all-rounder wrote on Twitter.
The tongue-in-cheek statement comes after the Black Caps' agonising loss to England at Lord's yesterday, where the team came runners up in the World Cup for the second time in a row.
The nail-biting match was stressful enough for fans watching from home, so one can only imagine what it must have been like for the players themselves.
Despite the two teams scoring equal runs in the regular 50 overs, and then again in the additional Super Over each team had, England emerged the victor based on their higher number of boundaries in the match.
The anguish of the loss could be seen on the faces of the Kiwis, with Neesham earlier tweeting: "That hurt. Hopefully there's a day or two over the next decade where I don't think about that last half hour. Congratulations @ECB_cricket, well deserved".
Neesham also made news before the big match, asking Indian fans who had shelled out for a seat in the final - assuming their team would be there - to resell their tickets via the official platform.
"I know it's tempting to try and make a large profit but please give all genuine cricket fans a chance to go, not just the wealthy," he wrote.
His comment came after it was revealed some punters were trying to sell tickets for more than 25 times their original value, at 10,000 pounds sterling (NZ$18,000).
