A group of players affectionately known as the "Fossils" are being credited with driving the Silver Ferns to a stunning World Cup triumph.
New Zealand's 16-year drought at the global tournament ended on Monday morning (NZT) with a heartstopping win over Australia in the final.

And it's the role veterans Laura Langman, Maria Folau and Casey Kopua played not only in the final - but over the last 12 months - that's made them part of Silver Ferns folklore.
With over 400 test caps between them, the trio has been instrumental in turning around the fortunes of the Ferns.
