The Crusaders have suffered a double injury blow for Saturday night's Super Rugby final against the Jaguares.

All Black duo Scott Barrett and Ryan Crotty are on the shelf, after suffering injuries in the four-point semi-final win over the Hurricanes last weekend.

Lock Barrett broke a finger during the first half and will spend up to six weeks in the medical ward.

Meanwhile, Crotty faces two months on the sidelines, after fracturing his thumb in the second half.

He had surgery on Sunday and given the long recovery, his All Blacks World Cup prospects in a congested midfield contest have taken a huge blow.

The timetable for his return means he may only be available to play the Tongan test - New Zealand's final hit out before heading to Japan.

The injuries leave Crusaders coach Scott Robertson mulling a selection reshuffle, with Luke Romano and Baydon Ennor possible replacements for Barrett and Crotty respectively.
