US gymnast Simone Biles has become the first gymnast in history to attempt - and land - a double-twisting, double somersault dismount off the balance beam.
The 22-year-old performed the jaw-dropping move to end her routine at the 2019 US Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday (local time).

Biles is no stranger to acclaim as a five-time Olympic medalist and 14-time world champion. She has been called the greatest American gymnast of all time.
Earlier on Friday, Biles also became the first woman to attempt a triple-double (two flips and three twists in the air) competitively during the floor exercise. However she failed to land the incredible stunt, 7News reports.
She is currently in first place at the two-day competition, which is due to continue on Sunday.
Biles is expected to win her sixth US title, a feat no woman has accomplished since Clara Schroth Lomady in 1952.
