Former Parramatta winger Semi Radradra has met with Canterbury representatives to discuss a possible return to the NRL in 2021.
Bulldogs chief executive Andrew Hill confirmed the meeting with Radradra, who is contracted to French rugby club Bordeaux until the end of 2020.
Radradra is also set to play for Fiji in the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
"There was an opportunity offered to us to meet with Semi while he is in Australia," Hill told News Corp Australia.
"We took that opportunity to introduce ourselves and let him know that at the right time, should he wish to come back to the NRL, we would be interested in talking to him.
"But at this stage, it was purely an introduction to our club."
Parramatta has already expressed interest in re-signing their former star.
Coach Brad Arthur said in July the Eels would be interested if Radradra wanted to return to the club where over five years, he scored 82 tries in 94 games.
