Penrith have released hooker Wayde Egan from the final two years of his NRL contract to pursue an opportunity with the Warriors.
Egan's departure comes after the club lured Apisai Koroisau back to the foot of the mountains after his four-year stint with Manly.
The 22-year-old has agreed to a three-year contract in Auckland, through until the end of the 2022 season.
The Australian will help fill the void left at hooker by the departing Issac Luke, who's been linked with the St George Dragons.
"He's a high-quality hooker who had an outstanding NYC career and has really impressed since coming into first grade," said Warriors general manager of football Brian Smith.
"His enthusiasm and skills at dummy half have attracted the attention of our recruitment and coaching staff and we know he’ll make a significant impact with us."
Egan progressed through the junior development pathways at Panthers to make his NRL debut in 2018, after a starring at U-20 level.
He's played 29 NRL games to date and has scored three tries.
