All Blacks great Ma'a Nonu is heading to the United States for the next stage of his rugby career.
The 103-test international has signed with the San Diego Legion for the 2020 Major League Rugby (MLR) season.
Nonu, who played for the Blues in 2019, said he's excited for his career journey.
"I'm really grateful to be joining the San Diego Legion and to play in the MLR for the 2020 season," said Nonu.
"I'm looking forward to the challenge of the new season ahead with the team. My family and I are excited about the move to San Diego."
Nonu will link up with the team in December ahead of the season which begins in February and runs through till June.
Legion head coach, Rob Hoadley said Nonu is the tournaments biggest signing to date.
"Ma'a is a huge addition for us. It is undeniable that he will have a major impact on the MLR this season.
"He is a world-class player who has proven himself to be one of the greats of the game. His talent and leadership will be a perfect addition to the San Diego Legion."
