The Kiwis have named four debutants for their Oceania Cup test against Australia in Wollongong on Friday.
The most notable is Canberra Raiders revelation Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who completes his international allegiance switch from the Cook Islands to start at centre.
The remaining three will debut from the bench - forwards Zane Tetevano, Braden Hamlin-Uele and Corey Harawira-Naera.
Nicoll-Klokstad replaces the injured Esan Marsters, while Jamayne Isaako comes in for captain Dallin Watene-Zeleniak on the right wing.
The Bulldogs back is recovering from minor knee surgery.
Leeson Ah Mau starts in the front row for Jesse Bromwich, who's out with a foot injury, and veteran Adam Blair comes into loose forward for Isaac Liu (knee).
Benji Marshall will captain the side to cap a remarkable return to the test arena.
The 34-year-old half only ended a seven-year absence from the international scene when he played in their mid-year test win over Tonga.
He'll lead New Zealand for a record 20th time in the one-off test at WIN Stadium as a replacement for regular skipper Watene-Zelezniak.
