England have romped to a comfortable seven-wicket win in the opening Twenty20 cricket international against the Blackcaps at Hagley Oval on Friday.
The tourists controlled the contest from the outset, firstly through a clinical bowling effort to restrict New Zealand to 153/5, then a surgical chase that never looked in danger of being derailed.
England's James Vince led the way with a composed 59 off 38 balls, cashing in on a miserly bowling effort anchored by Chris Jordan's 2/28.
Ross Taylor was the pick of the Blackcaps batsmen with 44 off 35 - part of a 56-run stand with Daryl Mitchell (30 not out) that saw the total through to something vaguely respectable.
Mitchell Santner claimed all three England wickets on a disheartening day for the NZ attack.
The teams now head to Wellington for the second T20 of the three-match series on Sunday.
