Issac Luke's next rugby league destination will almost certainly be the St George Dragons according to NRL.com.

The former New Zealand Warriors rake was deemed surplus to requirements by the club at the end of the 2019 season and has been on the hunt for a new employer.

According to NRL.com, that club is the Dragons, who will look at shifting current hooker Cameron McInnes into the back row to cater for the arrival of Luke.

McInnis and the former Kiwis international aren't strangers having played together at South Sydney.

The recruitment of Luke strengthens the Dragons' spine with Matt Dufty at fullback, Corey Norman and Ben Hunt in the halves and a combination of Luke and McInnis.

Luke's contract is said to be a little more than the minimum after he turned down a much bigger purse to join Leeds in the Super League.

NRL.com reports the deal will be for one season with an announcement due next week.
