Scarlets head coach Brad Mooar admits he's "torn" between staying in Wales or joining Ian Foster's All Blacks coaching staff.
Mooar is four months into his three-year contract with the Llanelli-based side, after replacing new Wales boss Wayne Pivac.
Foster, who succeeded Steve Hansen, wants Mooar to be part of his stellar coaching set-up that could also involve Hurricanes coach John Plumtree, former All Blacks prop Greg Feek, defence coach Scott McLeod and skills coach David Hill.
Over the weekend, Scarlets revealed "early discussions" had taken place with NZ Rugby, which are believed to be over compensation for the services of a coach that has two-and-a-half years left on his contract.
Mooar has helped Scarlets to eight victories from 11 matches this season.
"It's humbling to be in the conversation," Mooar said, after guiding Scarlets to a 46-5 win over French club Bayonne in Llanelli. "We can't really add anything more, because there is nothing to add to it.
"The question has been asked, we are grown adults and are having responsible conversations, and things will pan out.
"I am torn, yes, this is tough and both options are outstanding. We will just have to keep the conversations going.
"It's a wonderful place to be here and we are enjoying a great rise. The way we are playing the game and the fan base... it's bigger than one person and it's an exciting time.
"I doff my hats to the boys and staff, and the way everyone has pulled together has been outstanding."
Last Wednesday, Foster was named as the new All Blacks coach, signing a two-year deal and beating Crusaders coach Scott Robertson for the role.
