Supercars champion Scott McLaghlin has finished his stellar year with a flourish, marrying American partner Karly Paone in Malibu, California.
The Kiwi motorsport ace tied the knot on Saturday (NZ time), just a few hours after Team Penske confirmed he had been invited to an IndyCar test in January.
The 26-year-old scored his second straight Supercars crown for the American motorsport heavyweights last month, after earlier claiming his first Bathurst 1000 win amid a storm of controversy.
His wedding guest list was a Who's Who of the sport, including team boss Ryan Story, co-owners Dick Johnson and Roger Penske, and Kiwi teammate Fabian Coulthard.
"It has been an incredible year and I could not think of a better way to top if off," McLaughlin told speedcafe.com.
"I am incredibly fortunate to have Karly in my life, and to have so many friends and family here to celebrate our wedding. It has been a terrific day."
McLaughlin and his friends spent the weekend in Las Vegas, before bride and groom jetted off on their honeymoon.
