New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the fourth T20 against India with a shoulder injury.
New Zealand Cricket confirmed the injury to Newshub on Friday, stating the right-hand batsman hurt his left AC joint while fielding, in the super-over loss in Hamilton on Wednesday night.
Bowler Tim Southee will captain the side in Williamson's absence.
Williamson starred with bat in hand at Seddon Park, scoring 95 from 48 balls in New Zealand's attempt to chase down 180 for victory.
The captain fell with three balls remaining as New Zealand squandered a golden opportunity to end the barren run since the conclusion of the test series against England last year.
The loss of Williamson means Tom Bruce will get the nod as his replacement, with Daryl Mitchell likely to replace Colin de Grandhomme, who is being rested.
Blackcaps management is hopeful Williamson will be back on board for the final match of the series, at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
