Monday will be a great day for professional sports teams in New Zealand, with many Super Rugby and ANZ Premiership sides returning to training for the first time since lockdown restrictions began.
For many athletes it will be a welcome relief, but none more so than Waikato Bay of Plenty shooter Abigail Latu-Meafou.
After discussions with Magic staff, Latu-Meafou decided to spend lockdown with her family in Australia.
As a return to netball became evident, the former Queensland Firebird and Adelaide Thunderbirds shooter opted to come back to New Zealand as quickly as possible in the hope she could serve out her quarantine period before team training resumed.
The 22-year-old's timing couldn’t have been more perfect, checking out of her hotel on Sunday afternoon.
