Despite the NZ Warriors becoming everyone's second favorite team, not many people are backing them to have a successful 2020 campaign.
Former players-turned Fox Sports pundits Matty Johns, Braith Anasta, Michael Ennis, Cooper Cronk, Greg Alexander, Steve Roach and Ben Ikin were asked to pick the premiers, a dark horse and pick their ladder order from 1-16 and the reading doesn't look good for the Warriors.
The Warriors were one of six teams who failed to win a game before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus. They face those teams in the St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday at Central Coast Stadium in what will end a 70 day wait between games.
Anasta, Ennis, Alexander, and Ikin all predict the Warriors will win their first wooden spoon in the club's 26 year history.
Sadly the reading isn't much brighter with the other three pundits guesses.
Johns has the Warriors coming 14th, while Cronk and Roach think they'll finish 15th.
The closest the Warriors have come to claiming the spoon was in 2004, where points differential separated them and the South Sydney Rabbitohs from the bottom.
In place of the Warriors, Johns and Roach think the Gold Coast Titans will finish last with Cronk picking the Cronulla Sharks - both those teams also winless.
The NZ TAB is paying $5.70 for the Warriors to finish inside the top eight, the third highest odds ahead of the Canterbury Bulldogs and Titans.
The odds are similar with the Australian TAB, with the Warriors paying $5.50.
The pick for minor premiership is mixed with many teams picked.
Johns and Ikin picked the Melbourne Storm, with Anasta and Ennis tipping the Canberra Raiders.
Cronk and Alexander picked teams they represented in the Roosters and Panthers respectively, while Roach thinks the Manly Sea Eagles will finish top.
The Sea Eagles were the most common team under the dark horse category, selected by Ikin, Ennis and Johns.
Alexander and Anasta picked the Brisbane Broncos, while Roach selected the Panthers and Cronk chose the Knights.
The Storm and Raiders are the favourites at the NZ TAB to win the minor premiership at $4.20 and $5.50 respectively.
