The NZ Warriors have produced a clinical attacking performance in tipping the North Queensland Cowboys in Gosford.
Stephen Kearney's side scored seven tries - three more than they've managed all year - to run over Jason Taumalolo and his squad 37-26 on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
Peta Hiku shook off a horror start to touch down three times, but it was the halves combination of Blake Green and Kodi Nikorima that steered the ship superbly throughout the 80 minutes.
The Warriors scored three second-half tries off the back of pinpoint kicking from Green, while Nikorima had his best 40 minutes in a Warriors jersey in the first spell.
The former Broncos playmaker had the Cowboys defence in tatters at times, running the ball at will that eventually led to the Warriors second four-pointer of the match.
It was the 'home' side that struck first in Gosford when Patrick Herbert finished off a superb attacking set for the Warriors.
Green's chip kick was right in the mark, finding Herbert unmarked on the right-wing with the second-year Warrior putting a shocking performance last week well and truly behind him, with a mistake-free night.
The Cowboys wrestled control away with two quick tries, the second of which should have been repelled by Hiku, who tried to shield a grubber kick dead but was beaten to the ball by Kyle Feldt.
But Nikorima's brilliance drew the Warriors level when he exploded through poor defence, before shifting to the impressive rookie Eliesa Katoa who crashed over for his second try of the season.
Hiku scored the first of his three tries with five minutes to play in the half, before Nikorima added a drop goal with the final play of the first four minutes.
But a poor start to the second spell had the Cowboys right back in it when Justin O'Neill scored moments after a Katoa knock on two tackles in the half.
An Adam Pompey try three minutes later had the Warriors back to a five-point lead, which they would lose when Francis Molo crashed over close to the posts in the 49th minute,
Feldt added the two, giving the Cowboys a 22-21 lead with a half-hour to play.
But what followed was the most impressive 20-minute spell of the Warriors season, led by Green who took control of the game.
Off the back of eleven straight completed sets, the Warriors scored three tries in 14-minutes to take a 35-22 lead with seven minutes to play.
Feldt scored a consolation effort with five minutes to play before Nikorima added a penalty goal with time up.
The win lifts the Warriors record to two wins from five games and as of Friday night, they were on the brink of the top eight, level on points with the Roosters, Cowboys, Tigers and Broncos.
Next up is the South Sydney Rabbitohs next Friday night in Sydney.
Warriors 37 (Peta Hiku 3, Eliesa Katoa, Karl Lawton, Adam Pompey, Patrick Herbert tries, Kodi Nikorima 3 conversions, penalty field goal) beat Cowboys 26 (Kyle Feldt 2, Francis Molo, Justin O'Neill, Valentine Holmes tries, Feldt 3 conv) Halftime 17-12 Warriors
