The NZ Warriors have been dealt another two-pronged blow, with news that captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will likely miss next weekend's game against the Brisbane Broncos and loan player Poasa Faamausili has been recalled by the Sydney City Roosters.
Tuivasa-Sheck has been struck with a grade one shoulder charge by the NRL's Match Review Committee for his hit on Felise Kaufusi during NZ's 50-6 hammering by the Melbourne Storm on Friday.
An early guilty plea would still result in a one-week suspension.
The 27-year-old has been one of the few bright spots for the Warriors this season and his loss would be another dagger for the embattled club, which has already been reduced to an interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
On Friday, Faamausili started at prop for the Warriors but season-ending injuries to Victor Radley and Sam Verrills and a broken rib suffered by Issac Liu mean his services are now in high demand with the reigning premiers.
He will return to Roosters camp over the weekend, just a few days after the Roosters were willing to extend his stint with the Warriors to ease the Kiwi side's own injury woes.
The Warriors now sit 14th on the NRL ladder and also face the prospect of some of their key players - namely David Fusitu'a, Ken Maumalo, Leivaha Pulu, and Agnatius Paasi - abandoning the season due to delays in having their families cleared by Australian border authorities to join them across the Tasman.
Warriors chief excutive Cameron George has since confirmed that the foursome have agreed to reamin with the squad for at least another three weeks.
The Warriors will square off against the Broncos at Central Coast Stadium on Saturday.
