Dan Carter is auctioning one of his game-worn All Blacks jerseys to raise money for his local rugby club, Southbridge.
The 38-year-old is selling the jersey he wore in his 70th test against the Springboks at Eden Park, which the All Blacks won 32-12 as part of the Tri-Nations series.
In the match, Carter scored 12 points after landing three conversion and two penalty goals.
He describes the match as the most physical test of his career, adding the All Blacks "had a point to prove after losing all three test matches to South Africa during the Tri Nations in 2009".
"Grassroots rugby and community clubs are what New Zealand rugby is all about," Carter added.
"We all need to do our bit in getting New Zealand communities back on their feet and we need to rally around and get innovative to raise funds."
The auction, which closes on June 25, has already reached $21,000 on TradeMe.
Carter started playing at Southbridge aged five before becoming one of the biggest stars in world rugby.
"I don't know what my little town of Southbridge would be like without the rugby club," he told Seven Sharp.
Earlier this month, Carter signed with the Blues as an injury replacement for the Super Rugby Aotearoa season.
