The All Blacks won the series 2-1.

The same day, Czech Republic beat the United States 3-0.

Miami headed into the series as massive favourites in their first season with the 'Big Three' of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The Heat took a 2-1 series lead, but German Nowitzki led a remarkable fightback to secure a historic title.

NZ Breakers co-owner Shawn Marion was part of the Mavericks team.

Hurricanes' Beauden Barrett reportedly close to transfer to Blues

Hurricanes star Beauden Barrett could be heading north in a shock transfer to join the Blues.

The embattled franchise attempted to lure the two-time World Rugby Player of the Year to Auckland in 2016, before he eventually re-committed to the Hurricanes.

But according to NZME, the Blues are now confident they've done enough to secure Barrett's services.

Barrett is the one key All Black yet to confirm his future, with his contract with the NZR and Hurricanes expiring at the end of this season.

Blues chief executive Michael Redman refused to weigh in on the matter, insisting they don't make comment on player movement or recruitment matters.

Barrett will make his long-awaited Blues debut on Sunday against his old team.
