ANZ Premiership: Mainland Tactix move into second, Northern Mystics lose to Southern Steel

The Mainland Tactix boosted their hopes of qualifying for the ANZ Premiership final after their win over the Northern Stars saw them move into second spot on the standings.

The Tactix took down the Stars 47-40 thanks to a flawless shooting performance from Ellie Bird, who hit all 37 attempts, while teammate Te Paea Selby-Rickit converted 10 of her 12 shots.

Their spot in second was solidified after the Northern Mystics suffered a shock 47-41 loss to the Southern Steel.

With the Central Pulse all but guaranteed a spot in next month's ANZ Premiership final,  the Tactix, Stars, and Mystics are all battling it out to join them.

The Pulse (40 points) are top of the table followed by the Tactix (24), Mystics (21), Stars (17), Steel (14) and Magic (10).
