The Northern Mystics claimed a crucial win over cross-town rivals the Northern Stars 51-47 in their ANZ Premiership clash in Auckland on Friday.
The four-goal win sets up a top-of-table clash against the unbeaten Central Pulse on Saturday, and victory could see the Mystics move to the summit of the standings.
Mystics shooter Grace Nweke returned to the starting lineup after coming off the bench last week and the teenager played a big role in the win, scoring 36 of her side's goals.
After getting off to a strong start, the Stars quickly found themselves behind and trailed 15-11 at the end of the first quarter.
The Stars managed to level things up in the second quarter, but the Mystics went into the halftime break in front by one, 26-25, thanks to a late goal from Nweke.
On the back of shooter Maia Wilson converting all 11 of her shots, the Stars regained the lead and took a 39-38 lead heading into the final quarter.
But the Mystics came roaring back in the fourth quarter, outscoring their rivals by five goals to secure their fifth win of the season.
