Kiwi Scott Dixon remains unbeaten in the 2020 IndyCars season as he secured his third win of the campaign at the REV Group Grand Prix in Wisconsin on Sunday (NZ time).
In the first of two races at Road America this weekend, Dixon started the 55-lap race in ninth but a good pit strategy and a fast final pit stop saw him finish ahead of Australian Will Power.
The win was made extra special as it was the first race of the season to have fans in attendance.
"We're in the business of winning, so we've got to win," Dixon said after the race. "It's so cool to be back at a track with fans, and there's tons of them here today."
Dixon now has 49th career victories, third on the all-time list and three short of the legendary Mario Andretti in second.
On Monday, the 39-year-old will try to become the first to open a campaign with four consecutive victories since Frenchman Sebastien Bourdais won the first four races of the 2006 Champ Car season
Dixon is top of the IndyCar standings on 155 points, 62 clear of Simon Pagenaud in second.
