Benji Marshall has been given a selection reprieve, back on the bench for the Wests Tigers this weekend.

The former Kiwis captain was dropped last month after a mixed performance against the Gold Coast Titans, with coach Michael Maguire opting for Josh Reynolds as Luke Brooks' halves partner for the last four games.

But following a close-fought loss against the Penrith Panthers, Maguire has called on the veteran for a crunch clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Marshall's demotion prompted concerns over his future at the club, prompting both the Tigers veteran and Maguire to deny he would be forced out, while a decision on whether he plays on in 2021 is still yet to be made.

The Tigers and Bunnies share identical records in 2020, boasting four wins apiece, with Marshall's side holding the eighth and final playoff spot on points differential from this weekend's opponents.

The matchup, at Sydney's Bankwest Stadium, is scheduled for Friday night.
