NZ Warriors players say they have no issue with the ruthless approach of the club's owner, who has now joined the team in camp on New South Wales' Central Coast.
Mark Robinson has already sacked the coach and has indicated the playing roster is set for a shake up as well, after revealing Blake Green and Gerard Beale won't be with the NRL club next season.
But the players accept Robinson's abrasive style is here to stay.
Veteran half Green was at his best, as he guided the Warriors to victory over Brisbane on Saturday - the perfect response to the announcement that his time at the club would soon be over.
"I'm not going to lie, it wasn't nice to read," says Warriors forward Jazz Tevaga. "But at the end of the day, he does own the club."
Green isn't the only one looking over his shoulder. The Warriors have 12 players coming off contact at the end of the season - many of them senior figures - although Adam Blair has the option to remain for another year.
With the potential for fresh faces among the playing group and the search for a coach underway, change is in the air.
"When [Robinson] wants something done he does it straight away," Tevaga adds. "He's honest about it - there's no fluffing around."
Players are aware that Robinson means business - Kearney's sacking and his comments around player contracts are proof of that.
"[Robinson] is a good guy, I have no dramas with him," says Tevaga. "We'll see if he addresses [the Green, Beale situation] in the next couple of days."
As for Green, he has the full backing of his teammates.
"He's probably one of my favourite players to play with," says Warriors hooker Wayde Egan.
"I reckon he'll keep playing footy for a couple more years. He's a great player."
