Mainland Tactix defender Jane Watson has capped off a memorable ANZ Premiership season with selection as Player of the Year.
Alongside Temalisi Fakahokotau, Watson anchored the competition's best defence, finishing with a season-high 72 deflections and 20 intercepts.
After also winning the award in 2017, the Silver Fern becomes the first two-time recipient of the league's most prestigious individual prize, with Katrina Rore (2018) and Gina Crampton (2019) also previous winners.
Watson's Tactix fell short in Sunday's ANZ Premiership final, beaten 43-31 by defending champions Central Pulse.
Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie was recognised as ANZ Premiership Coach of the Year, after leading her side to back-to-back titles.
McCausland-Durie, who stepped down as coach of the Pulse after Sunday’s grand final, has guided the side through its most successful era, contesting four consecutive finals and winning two titles.
Josh Bowring has been named ANZ Premiership Umpire of the Year for the second year in a row, thanks to another strong season.
On Tuesday, Dame Noeline Taurua will name the Silver Ferns squad for their upcoming international campaign.
