A disappointing final round has seen Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko finish tied for 14th at the Women's British Open at Royal Troon in Scotland.
Starting the round in a three-way tie for seventh - six shots behind leader Sophia Popov - Ko made a promising start with a bogey on the second hole, and birdies on the sixth and seventh, which kept her in contention.
Four successive bogeys from the 10th saw her drift backwards in the first 'Major' of the year, before Ko birdied the penultimate hole to complete a two-over par 73 final round to finish four-over for the tournament, alongside five of her rivals.
She finished 11 shots behind German Popov, who struck a three-under-par 68 for her first Major title.
Popov only qualified for the tournament a fortnight ago, after finishing inside the top 10 at the Marathon Classic - the tournament where Ko held a six-shot lead with five holes left, before losing to American Danielle Kang.
Popov says she almost quit playing last year.
"There has been a lot of struggle over the last six years and I was just glad I was able to overcome it," she says.
"I got here on Tuesday and I knew my game was in really good shape. I took that belief into every round, but I didn't expect this.
"I was glad I could get it done."
Thailand's Jasmine Suwannapura shot a 67 to finish on five-under, two ahead of Australian Minjee Lee (69).
Ko hasn't won a tournament since April 2018, but she's starting to discover the form that saw her once ranked top of women's golf.
Two weeks ago, she tied for second at the Marathon Classic after a stunning collapse, while last week, she finished 12th equal at the Scottish Open.
