Kiwi rugby league star Shaun Johnson and his wife Kayla (nee Cullen) have welcomed their first child to the world.
Millah Malvina Johnson was born on August 20, the couple sharing photos on their Instagram accounts.
"Welcome to this big crazy world, Millah Malvina Johnson," Kayla, a former Silver Ferns representative, wrote. "We love you so much."
Her post has more than 17,000 likes and many comments of congratulations from some of her former netball teammates, while numerous NRL stars commented on Shaun's post.
The birth of Millah saw Shaun miss the Cronulla Sharks' 38-12 defeat to the Penrith Panthers on Friday night.
Sharks coach John Morris admitted having his star playmaker unavailable was a big reason for the loss.
"I must admit, losing Shaun Johnson hurts us, we still haven't got Chad Townsend out there, so that's our starting halves, so there's two big casualties out there for us," he says.
He is expected to return for next Saturday's clash against the North Queensland Cowboys.
Fellow Kiwi sporting star Beauden Barrett and his wife Hannah are expecting their first child also this month.
