The opening two weeks of rugby's Farah Palmer Cup have been called off due to the return to COVID-19 alert level 3.
The North pool of the women's domestic competition was set to begin Saturday August 22.
All of those teams, which include Northland, North Harbour, Auckland, Counties Manukau, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Taranaki, are based in Auckland.
NZ Rugby is still hopeful those fixtures affected will be able to be worked into future rounds.
"We'll now discuss with Provincial Unions and the Players Association around the different options for revising the draw," says head of women's rugby Cate Sexton.
"The Farah Palmer Cup is an exciting competition and we know our teams and fans are looking forward to it getting underway."
The South pool, which includes Manawatu, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Tasman, Canterbury and Otago, isn't scheduled to begin until week three of the competition.
