UFC middleweight Paulo Costa has called Israel Adesanya 'human trash' for the Nigerian-Kiwi's actions in the moments after their UFC 253 fight.
Adesanya needed a touch more than nine minutes to humiliate the previously unbeaten Brazilian with a clinical display of striking, which ended with 'The Last Stylebender' mounting Costa with a barrage of strikes.
Adesanya then simulated humping Costa, a parting shot after nearly two years of trash talk between the two.
The hatchet seemed to have been buried, when the two shared kind words in the Octagon afterwards, before shaking hands.
But after seeing footage of Adesanya's post-fight antics, an enraged Costa has now promised revenge in a short Instagram post.
"I come here to talk about the action that the human trash did after the fight," Costa says.
"I didn’t see when I was there in the cage, but I saw now.
"I disapprove, 100 percent. To me, this is mortal now - nobody will stop me."
Bearing the scars of a humbling defeat, the now 13-1 striker hinted at a pre-fight injury as the reason for being completely outclassed by the champion.
"I want my rematch," he continues. "And you know, I’m [going to] wait for you.
"Something happened before the fight. I’m not [making] excuses here to my people, my fans, but I will be 100 percent to fight him and make him pay.
"That’s my words, save my words."
The 28-year-old tagged UFC president Dana White in the post, demanding an immediate rematch, which is highly unlikely, given the clear gap in class between the two.
"Adesanya is human trash," he wrote. "This has become a grave situation!
"I saw his disgusting action after fight and I will not stop until I have my revenge. @danawhite make this rematch happen."
Adesanya didn't waste the opportunity to throw salt into Costa's healing wounds, with an almost immediate response moments later.
"I can stop you...again :)," he replied. "Dislike."
Costa will have to wait for his shot at revenge, with a long line of contenders hoping for a chance to pry the belt from the Aucklander's grasp.
White has confirmed that the winner of the upcoming clash between former champion Robert Whittaker and Jarred Cannonier 'makes sense' as the next challenger.
