All Whites midfielder Ryan Thomas has scored a screamer of a goal, as his PSV Eindhoven side thrashed Den Haag 4-0 in the Dutch Eredisie competition.
The result elevates PSV to third placing in the league, with five wins and a draw from seven outings.
Thomas' effort came in the 84th minute, when the ball ricocheted off the Den Haag posts and Thomas met a return pass from debutant Richard Ledezma on the edge of the area with his right foot, curling his shot away from the goalie, but inside the far post.
The 25-year-old Kiwi, who was named 2015 Oceania Footballer of the Year, joined the Dutch powerhouse club in 2018, but tore knee ligaments just days later and finally debuted in October 2019.
He was called up to the PSV defensive line-up against Den Haag, after nine teammates tested positive for COVID-19. Thomas hadn't scored since February, when he headed home against the same opponents.
