All Whites midfielder Sarpreet Singh has been granted a leave of absence to return to New Zealand for "personal reasons", his German loan club FC Nürnberg have announced.
Nurnberg confirmed the 21-year-old will return to Auckland during the November international window and won't likely be available for selection until their match against Paderborn on December 7.
Singh was an unused substitute during Nurnberg's 1-1 draw against Düsseldorf on Sunday (NZ time).
He will be required to spend 14 days in managed isolation when he arrives in New Zealand.
"Sarpreet approached us with the request for reasons that were more than understandable for us. We granted this request," says Nürnberg sporting director Dieter Hecking.
"Sarpreet would have settled his important personal concerns at home during the winter break. But there is no real winter break this season."
Singh has played six times since joining from European champions Bayern Munich on a season-long loan.
He signed with Bayern Munich last year after an impressive campaign at the U20 World Cup with New Zealand.
