Indian Premier League: Blackcaps bowler Trent Boult leads Mumbai Indians into final

Blackcaps bowler Trent Boult has helped his Mumbai Indians into the Indian Premier League final, grabbing two wickets, as they cruised past Delhi Capitals.

The paceman had Delhi reeling in their opening over, grabbing the wickets of opener Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane for ducks, as they began their chase for 201 runs in 20 overs for victory.

With his second ball, Boult enticed Shaw into an edge to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock, then three balls later, he trapped Rahane leg before wicket with a delivery that kept low.

Delhi lost their other opener, Shikhar Dhawan, in the next over - also without scoring - and never recovered, falling 57 runs short of their target.

Boult finished with bowling figures of 2/9 from his two overs, while Indian star Jasprit Bumrah took a season-best 4/14 off four overs to capture Player of the Match honours.

The Kiwi has taken 22 wickets over 14 matches this season, while conceding 8.00 runs an over. His three maidens - including his latest against Delhi - lead the competition.

Mumbai now progress directly to next Tuesday's final, where they will meet either Delhi or the winners of Sunrisers Hyderabad (including Blackcaps skipper Kane Williamson) and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Blackcaps open their summer campaign on November 27, with a T20 match against West Indies in Auckland.
