Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of this Mitre 10 Cup Premiership final between Auckland and Tasman at Eden Park.

Updates will begin from 6:35pm.

Last time these two sides played, Auckland ran away convincing 31-10 winners in round six. This match is a repeat of last year's semi-final, where Tasman took the spoils 18-9.

The home side are looking to win their 18th national provincial championship and their second in three years.

Coach Alama Ieremia has made several changes to the match-day squad that were victorious over Waikato in the semi-final.

Halfback Taufa Funaki comes on the bench, after making his debut for Auckland in the week three clash against Manawatu.

James Lay and Niko Jones come into the starting line-up and Jack Whetton will make his return to the run-on XV, after suffering a shoulder injury in the previous meeting with Tasman.

The Mako hope to go back-to-back, after beating Wellington in last year's final, and their third title since 2006.

The visitors have made just once change to their starting XV, with Isi Tuungafasi replacing Ryan Coxon at prop.

Coxon will come off the bench, while prop Isaac Salmon also returns, via the reserves.
