Promising half Sean O'Sullivan has signed a one-year contract with NZ Warriors, as new coach Nathan Brown completes his first week on the job.
O'Sullivan, 22, was off contract with Brisbane Broncos, where he played eight games over the past two seasons, after making his NRL debut with Sydney Roosters in 2018.
"It's great to be able to bring in a player of Sean's ability to boost our squad," says Brown. "He's been part of the great system at the Roosters and has broadened his experience spending the last two seasons with the Broncos.
"He'll add real value for us and ensure there's real competition for places."
The Warriors half positions have been unsettled, since Shaun Johnson departed before the 2019 campaign. Veteran Blake Green moved on during the just-completed NRL season, leaving Kodi Nikorima and Chanel Harris-Tavita to consolidate their growing combination.
Rookie Paul Turner also showed his ability with an outstanding debut against Canterbury Bulldogs.
Brisbane finished bottom of the NRL table for the first time in 2020 and could not find a half duo to lead them to the playoffs. The Broncos started six different half combinations, with O'Sullivan suiting up three times.
