The NZ Breakers are going to great lengths to ensure players with families are catered for during their upcoming Australia-based ANBL campaign.
The NZ club will base itself across the Tasman to play the first half of its 2020/21 schedule, with the hope that travel restrictions will be eased in time for them to return to their Spark Arena base by early next year.
During their first three and a half months, owner Matt Walsh says those with young families - including the likes of Tom Abercrombie and assistant coach Mody Moar - will be setup with their children near the team's Melbourne headquarters.
"As an organisation, one thing I know we've done a good job of is to set them up so that they're basically going over to a readymade home and apartment," Walsh confirms.
"It's not going to be like a hotel, they're going to have a really good living situation in the centre of Melbourne.
"While it's not ideal, it's going to be pretty good."
Walsh says one of their opening nine fixtures will be a 'home' game, which will take place in Melbourne.
"What that is going to look like we're still not sure, but basically on TV it's going to look a lot like a Breakers home game at Spark," he says.
"There's a lot of logistics to be worked out but we will have at least one through that first five-week stretch."
The Breakers squad and staff depart for Australia on Sunday.
