A five-over final round has seen Kiwi Lydia Ko finish a disappointing 13th at the US Open in Houston.
Ko ended the tournament eight shots behind Korean A Lim Kim, who blazed home to secure her first Major title.
Kim birdied the final three holes on her Open debut, to head compatriot Jin Young Ko and American Amy Olsen at three-under.
Kim had started her final round in ninth, five-shots back from the leaders.
"Because first experience it's more about learning and observing, experiencing the whole
Kim, 25, posted a final-round four-under-par 67. She finished the tournament, which was extended to a fifth day, at 3-under 281 for a one-shot victory.
Overcoming a five-shot deficit to win, Kim tied the largest final-round comeback in Open history, becoming the seventh player to do so.
Sweedish great Annika Sorenstam was the last to do it in 1995.
Kim told herself to embrace the opportunity. She found the good aspects of the tournament venue and worked through any trouble spots to churn out the victory.
"The course itself is very much my type," Kim said. "I'm in love with the course. Very great playing conditions and so forth."
Ko shot five bogeys in a birdie-less round at Cypress Creek - a disappointing outcome for the former World No.1, who started the day in fifth spot, with an outside shot at victory.
