Kiwi centre Steven Adams continues to be the most feared player on an NBA court, according to the NBA's general managers.
On Saturday (NZ time), the NBA announced the results of its annual survey, where Adams received 32 percent of the votes to earn the nod for the fourth-consecutive season.
Rockets forward PJ Tucker was second (25 percent), while Heat superstar Jimmy Butler and Celtics guard Marcus Smart shared third (14 percent).
Never one to shy from confrontation, Adams has forged a reputation as one of the most hard-nosed paint protectors in the league, one of the few who fits the mould of the traditional centre.
Last month, after seven years with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the 27-year-old was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in a multi-team trade that has also been lauded by GMs.
In the 'most underrated player acquisition' category, Adams' move to the Pelicans came in tied for second with new Trail Blazer Robert Covington (11 percent), behind Serge Ibaka's signing with the LA Clippers (15 percent).
Headlined by sophomore sensation Zion Williamson and athletic scorer Brandon Ingram, Adams joins an impressive nucleus of rising talent at the Pelicans, which is promising enough to have been deemed the league's 'most promising young core', with 41 percent of the GM vote.
Bucks' phenom Giannis Antetokounmpo has been voted to pick up his third consecutive Most Valuable Player award, followed by Mavericks' Luka Doncic and Lakers' Anthony Davis.
LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers are the overwhelming favourite to win a second-straight NBA title, sweeping 81 percent of the vote ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers (11 percent).
Former Illawarra Hawks 'next star' LaMelo Ball - who was taken third overall by the Charlotte Hornets in this year's Draft - was voted favourite to win Rookie of the Year.
The Pelicans tip-off their 2020/21 regular season against the Toronto Raptors on December 24.
