The Kiwi Ferns half stole the rugby league spotlight in November, with their match against Samoa the only international test due to COVID-19.
Plenty of young talent put their hands up in coach Ricky Henry's side that day, including 24-year-old Autumn-Rain Stephens-Daly, who only made the full time switch from rugby to league this year.
The former Bay of Plenty Steamer only played league for the first time two years ago, but still managed to make an immediate impact with a two-try haul.
"I wasn't expecting tries, to be honest," Stephens-Daly tells Newshub. "It was nice, it really built my confidence."
She now has her sights set on the NRL W and World Cup next year.
"I want to continue down the league path," she says. "It's world cup next year and that's probably one of my goals I want to achieve."
Coach Ricky Henry was impressed with how well Stephens-Daly made the transition between codes.
"We just had to give her some space and open up the field for her," says Henry.
And tapping into the country's rugby potential is something he wants to explore more for the Kiwi Ferns.
