All Whites star Sarpeet Singh has returned to parent club Bayern Munich, after his loan deal with second division German club Nürnberg was cut short.
The 21-year-old struggled to break into the first team, making only 12 appearances for Nürnberg, but only six as a starter in the physical second division league.
The original plan was for Singh to spend a full season with Nürnberg and return to Bayern on June 30, but both clubs agreed to terminate their arrangement five months early.
"Together with Bayern and Sarpreet, we have agreed that this step is the right one for everyone," says Nürnberg sport director Dieter Hecking. "We wish him all the best for his sporting and private future."
German reports suggest Singh wasn't happy at Nürnberg and ended the loan deal himself. He struggled to settle in and couldn't cope with the physicality of the second division.
The former Phoenix midfielder was an unused substitute in Nürnberg’s most recent match, a 1-0 defeat to Jahn Regensburg on Thursday (NZT).
