Kiwi NBA centre Steven Adams has produced a strong 'double double' performance to help his New Orleans Pelicans snap a five-game losing slump against Sacramento Kings.
The Pelicans took the lead late in the opening quarter, building a 17-point advantage and barely holding off their rivals' late comeback to emerge 128-123 winners on the road - their first win since January 4 (NZ time).
Adams dominated the boards for 15 rebounds - eight at the offensive end - but struggled from the field, shooting just 3/8 among his 12 points.
Superstar forward Zion Williamson led New Orleans with 31 points, while Sacramento point guard De'Aaron Fox leading all scorers with 43 points, along with 13 assists.
The result improves the Pelicans' record to five wins/seven losses for the season. They next play Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
