All Whites forward Kosta Barbarouses' two goal brace has helped Sydney FC secure a 2-1 A-League win over a wasteful Wellington Phoenix.

Wellington enjoyed a host of opportunities to find the net, hitting the crossbar through Davila and Louis Fenton, and unleashed 20 shots to Sydney's seven, but could not make them count, until Mexican star Davila scored from a deflection.
Defending champions Sydney FC are now third on the ladder, behind Central Coast Mariners and Brisbane Roar, while the Phoenix sit second-to-bottom in the 12 team competition.
They will next face the top-of-the-table Mariners on Sunday, after beating them 2-1 a week ago.
