Heavyweight boxing kingpin Tyson Fury has poured cold water on a rumoured super fight with Anthony Joshua, claiming the bout is "nowhere near" being finalised.
As recently as last week, promoters Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum said the two parties were inching closer to a deal to fight for the undisputed heavyweight crown, but Fury says he has stopped training and gone on holiday.
Speaking to iFL TV, a frustrated 'The Gypsy King' said he's done with training until a date is locked in.
"Until I've got a date and a load of money in my pocket, there's no fight," Fury told iFL TV.
"There's a lot of things going on that people don't know behind the scenes that can scupper a fight.
"We're nowhere near at the moment.
"I've stopped training now, I'm on holiday,"
Should the bout come to fruition, the heavyweight division will have its first undisputed champion in more than 20 years.
Joshua currently holds the IBF, WBO and WBA titles, while the undefeated Fury's sensational stoppage win over American Deontay Wilder in 2020 earned him the WBC strap.
Fury told iFL TV the fight has to happen, but the continuing delay is irritating.
"Do I think the fight will eventually happen sooner or later? Yes. It has to happen. But do I think it's imminent? No. I'm not going to hold my breath for it."
A typically humorous Fury said he plans on fighting twice in 2021, although who that is against remains to be seen.
While Joshua is likely, a third fight against Wilder, potentially in the UK would be a big money-maker, while the winner of the upcoming fight between Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin will earn a mandatory WBC title fight.
Oleksander Usyk, Joe Joyce, Derek Chisora and Kiwi Joseph Parker are also in the mix.
"I've got two fights this year and I don't care who it's with - Joe Bloggs, Mike Tyson, Fred Flintstone - anybody," he said.
"Don't write Wilder out of the equation, I could be having the trilogy fight with him yet.
"A lot is going on behind the scenes and Wilder could be next."
Parker is set for a mid-year fight with Chisora which could earn him a big-money contenders fight in late 2021-early 2022.
